Where Are They Now – George Ann Huck

George Ann Huck, professor emerita, served Central College students from 1968 to 2005 as the residential director in Merida, Yucatan. She experienced a number of changes to Central’s program and within the country during those 37 years.

John Miller, a professor of English, served Central College for 35 years. During his time at the college, he also served as the first Weller Chair from 1991-1994, was the director of the Central College Program in London, England from 1974-1975, and taught in Merida, Yucatan program five different times. Retired, he now lives in Louisville, Ken. with his wife Susan.

Steve Ybarrola taught anthropology at Central from 1991-2006. He is now professor of cultural anthropology at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Ky.

Bill Julian was a political science professor in the ’70s and ’80s, as well as associate academic dean. His time at Central is fondly remembered—everything from debating marijuana’s legalization to sleeping through a final exam.

Evelyn Steddom served Central College for almost 20 years in the ’80s and ’90s. During her time at Central, she worked for five academic deans before retiring in 1996. She still lives in Pella.
