Megan – I currently work for On With Life in Ankeny, Iowa. I was able to use my background in psychology to help people who have survived traumatic brain injuries with daily living skills so they can stay in their own homes and be as independent as possible. I worked in our community service department for about three years before switching gears and joining the corporate office as the accounting coordinator. I never thought I would be in accounting, but I feel that my liberal arts background prepared me for just about anything. I am excited to see what the future holds and what other unexpectedly perfect things come my way.
Zach – I currently work in the athletic department at Drake University as the game operations manager. My day-to-day duties are never the same, but generally I assist in scheduling and maintenance for our athletic facilities. I also assist in game day setup/teardown for all home athletic events while also managing our event management staff. It’s a very hectic job that has given me the opportunity to work extensively for the Drake Relays and State Track Meet on top of hosting Bill Nye (The Science Guy) for our annual Bucksbaum Speaker Series in the Knapp Center. I’ve always enjoyed sports and the collegiate environment and this job has provided me an avenue to gain a new perspective of it all.
Zach and I have different stories on how we officially met. I say we met at an Ugly Sweater party in Peale. I saw him from across the room in a candy cane mock turtleneck and just had to talk to him. The rest is history.
After Central Zach spent two years in Philly getting his masters in sports management. We got married after he graduated in 2013, bought a house and just recently adopted our puppy, Gus. We enjoy traveling to Colorado and to the east coast to visit friends as often as we can.
