Renee Sedlacek 2005

I am the director of community engaged learning at Drake University. Building upon my service-learning experiences at Central, I have spent my entire career leading college student community engagement and service-learning programs.

After Central I spent seven years in Waverly as the service-learning coordinator at Wartburg College. I have been an active member of my community no matter where I have lived. In Waverly I served as President of the Jaycees and upon coming to Des Moines I bought a 1920 Craftsman style home on the north side and currently serve as the secretary for the Oak Park Neighbors Association. This coming fall I will participate in the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute and look forward to finding more ways I can meaningfully contribute my time and talents.

Rene, Congratulations on your new position! You are a gem. I learned a lot from you when you were a student just a few years ago now. Thanks, and much good wishes as you move forward.
