After college, I enjoyed three years working for Principal Financial traveling nation-wide with a team conducting health screenings to educate policyholders. From there I tried a year in public health with E.F.R. before I turned to a career in public safety, where I served as an officer in the Dept. of Public Safety at Drake University. During my five years as an officer for Drake, I also served three of those years as a part-time fire fighter/EMT for the City of West Des Moines while also working toward a master of public administration from Drake. I am currently serving as the neighborhood and community relations manager at Drake.
My memories of Central include exploring the city of Pella and Lake Red Rock, both were great, but my most memorable moments were spent with the wrestling team and the lifelong friends I made there.

Interesting to read about your map-making interests since our daughter-in-law, Jodi Flory, has a GIS degree. She does contract work at the State Capitol 2 days a week and has worked on the redistricting twice for Iowa and once for Rhode Island. She also still contracts for a company in Winter Park, CO, and some of the maps she works on are trail marker maps–very fun! I recently retired from Pella Corporation after almost 27 years and began a new career as the Exec. Assistant to the VP for Advancement, Sunny Eighmy.
