Doug Schakel completed his second season as assistant women’s basketball coach at Johnson County Community College. He helped lead the Lady Cavaliers to a 32-5 record and a fifth-place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament. Doug and wife Sharon Kreun Schakel ’67 live in Olathe, Kan.
