While at Central, I worked full time and married my husband Andrew. We live in Johnston and have a two-year-old daughter named Paislee. Andrew is a graphic artist and screen printer.
In my position as the director of community partnerships at Sylvan Learning Iowa in Pleasant Hill, I oversee after-school programming funded by Title I for over 20 school districts and more than 50 schools. This allows me to put to great use the community mindedness that was forged and fostered during my time as the AmeriCorps VISTA in the CCBL and my master’s degree in organizational leadership from the University of Northwestern at St. Paul. And, of course, my more than eight years spent as an academic advisor and program director at DMACC.
