Grant McMartin 1997

“Early Morning Autumn, by Grant William Thye, is part of a group exhibit at the University of Iowa’s Old Capital Museum. “From Cornfields to Cliffs and In Between: Daily Palette Artists Reimagine Iowa’s Landscape.”, runs from April 24 to June 12. Only seven out of the possible 3,000, were selected for this juried exhibit. Each artist was selected for their ability to interpret and help us think about Iowa’s landscape in new ways.

His painting “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” was on display at the “Chicago Artists Interpret Shakespeare” exhibit at Addington Gallery in Chicago’s River North Art District through April.

Chicago Weekly said “This exhibit shines!” and the Chicago Tribune chose it as their “Pick of the Week”. The juried group exhibit selected artists on their high quality of work and unique responses to Shakespeare’s tragic and comedic genius.

Congratulations Grant! We are proud to display one of your paintings that reminds us of home and the Iowa landscape. We will find the perfect spot for it in our new Dallas, TX apartment on the 14th floor! Not many trees to look at up there. Hope to see you this fall at NAC.
