Colby Elementary received the Department of Education Green Ribbon Award. The award was presented at a ceremony in Washington DC on June 3rd. Brenda is the co-principal of the Elementary. The school showed great progress in the areas of 1. Reduced environmental impact and costs 2. Improved health and wellness and 3. Effective Environmental and Sustainability Education. Our biggest savings is in the recycling of milk cartons at breakfast, lunch, and snack break. It even inspired the HS and MS to begin recycling milk cartons. We also recently built an outdoor classroom through donations and volunteerism.
