Nathan Bunting ’96 has been living and working in Manila, Philippines, since 2002. Our school, Faith Academy, is primarily for the children of missionaries. I am part of the missionary staff, which means I’m also a missionary; my mission organization is Wycliffe Bible Translators. I have primarily been a high school Bible teacher, due to various needs, I’ve also taught an independent living/college prep class for seniors, business classes, high school and middle school PE and I’ve filled in as the high school guidance counselor on two occasions. My wife, Valerie and I have been boarding home parents to 18 boys for one year. Most recently, I’ve finished a semester as the Boarding Home Administrator.
My wife Valerie came to teach in 2005 and we were married in 2006. Together we have three children, Katrina Jean – age 5, Andrew Willard – age 3 and Natalie Jo who was born this past February 24. All three kids were born in the Philippines.
We are spending the 2015-16 school year on furlough in the U.S. We’ll be raising support, reconnecting with family and friends, teaching about missions, recruiting teachers for Faith Academy, and training new missionaries with Wycliffe.
