In May 2012, I was the recipient of the XITA Award for excellence in teaching at Xavier High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This is an award given annually at Xavier. I am in my 10th year of teaching English at Xavier. My husband, Chris, and I live in Cedar Rapids with our two children and are expecting our third child in March.
