After 24 years with EMC Insurance Companies (in DSM) as a methods analyst, I’ll retire on June 8. This leaves about 5 weeks to get ready for a year-long visit to Malawi, Africa, to volunteer for various Methodist Church projects. Volunteering with our church groups has taken me to 2 So. Dak. reservations; Pearlington, MS after Katrina; several times to Cedar Rapids to help rebuild; and to Malawi in 2009 to help identify projects on which our Ankeny Methodist Church could partner with the Malawi Methodist Church.
