My life after Central College has been a wild, unpredictable, fulfilling ride from CA-IA-DC-CO, where hidden blessings abound, and the best is yet to come.
As the director of content at The Quiggle Group, I tell the hopeful, optimistic stories of aspiring to our better selves, legacy leadership, and business creating value for communities and helping people.
I grew up in Southern California with family ties to Iowa. I always knew I wanted to go to school out-of-state and was open to anywhere and to try anything. I’ve been asked countless times why I chose to leave SoCal to attend college in Iowa. Tongue in cheek I always answer, “Well I was really committed to living in a town that rhymes with my last name: Swella. Pella.” It was the perfect fit. In all honesty though, the first time I was on Central’s campus, it just felt like home.
Memories fade with time. The most meaningful Central moment that will never fade is the relationships I formed at Central that have grown even stronger into adulthood. My close friendships, my Central Girls continue to be my living, most memorable Central moment.
