Harold De Bie ’65 received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Southern California Interscholastic Basketball Coaches’ Association. The award was presented during a ceremony March 4 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. De Bie taught for 40 years at Valley Christian High School in Cerritos, Calif., including 37 years as athletics director. He was the boys’ basketball coach for 28 seasons and continued coaching in various roles after retiring in 2005. De Bie was also a standout player on the Central men’s basketball team and was inducted into Central’s Athletics Hall of Honor in 2008.
