Chelsea Petersen was named head women’s basketball coach at Central after serving as interim coach since August.
Petersen, who joined the Dutch staff as assistant coach prior to the 2012-13 season, piloted Central to its highest victory total in the past decade, posting an 11-14 mark.
She’ll again have the services of guard Kenzie Vander Molen, who earned first- team all-Iowa Conference honors for the Dutch as a junior this year. She was the league’s second-leading scorer with 16.2 points per game and was second in assists with 3.2. Vander Molen also received third-team all-region honors from D3hoops.com. She’ll be among three returning starters next year.
