After combining for just three victories in 2009 and 2010, the Central women’s soccer team proved last year’s dramatic turnaround was no fluke.

Topping last season’s 10-7-1 mark, the Dutch were 12-6-2 in 2012, tying the school season wins record. Mike Kobylinski, in his second year, shared Iowa Conference coach of the year honors. Junior forward Alayna Bailey was a first-team all-league pick, while sophomore midfielder Emily Saville was named to the second team. Bailey scored a team-high 15 goals and ranks third on the school career scoring chart. The Dutch were fourth in the league and won their first conference tourney game since 2007 when Liz Daniels knocked home the winner with just 5 seconds remaining for a 2-1 triumph over Simpson.
