This year, the Central Fund will disappear, to be replaced by a new fund dedicated solely to providing scholarships to students. With the Journey Scholarship Fund, alumni can give directly to student scholarships rather than contributing to the college’s larger budget.
“The majority of alumni were only able to come to Central because of scholarship dollars provided by the alumni who came before them,” says Kathy CashenThompson ’87, director of annual giving. “We want to continue this tradition.”
One-year scholarships will be named after those who give $1,000 or more, and donors will get the chance to meet the scholarship students at a dinner in April.
Gifts from alumni with automatic withdrawal or round-up service on credit cards will go to the Journey Scholarship Fund. If you have a pledge you would like to redesignate to the Journey Scholarship Fund, please contact Thompson.
